(1)

If a child or young person is examined or treated pursuant to section 19 or 20, the protector or police officer who authorised such examination or treatment, the medical officer who examined or treated him and all persons acting in aid of such medical officer, shall not incur any liability at law by reason only that the child or young person is examined or treated pursuant to these sections.

(2)

Nothing contained in subsection (1) shall relieve a medical officer from liability in respect of the examination or treatment of a child or young person if he would have been subject to such liability had the examination or treatment been carried out or administered with the written consent of the guardian of the child or young person or other person having authority to consent to it.
