How bruneilaws sources and checks the law
bruneilaws is a structural layer over official Bruneian legal sources. The law itself is the source text, reorganised for reading and never rewritten. Here is where it comes from, how it is processed and checked, and how current it is.
01 ·Sourcing
Legislation comes from the Attorney General's Chambers of Brunei Darussalam, its official publisher. Every page links back to its source.
02 ·Structuring
The official text is parsed into its natural hierarchy, from parts to sections, subsections and paragraphs, so each unit has a stable address of its own. References to other laws are resolved and rendered as links where we hold them. The text inside that structure is untouched.
03 ·Verifying
Parsed laws are checked against the source for structural fidelity. Status (in force, amended, repealed) and amendment history come from recorded relationships between laws, not inference. Readers can report anything wrong.
04 ·Guides and summaries
Guides and plain-English summaries are ours, and are always marked as ours. Each statement in them cites the section it rests on, and nothing is published until every source opens, every quotation matches the cited text, every figure and date appears in it, and a second check that did not write the text agrees that the section supports it.
Guides show the date the law was read. When a law they cite changes, they go back for a fresh check.
05 ·Freshness
Each law shows when its text was last updated. Re-parses and corrections move that date, so you, search engines and AI assistants can tell how current a page is.
