The Commissioner or any Assistant Commissioner authorised by the Commissioner in writing in that behalf may compound any offence under this Act or any regulations made thereunder which is prescribed as a compoundable offence by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding —
Commissioner
“Commissioner” means the Commissioner of Cybersecurity appointed under section 5(1);
one half of the amount of the maximum fine that is prescribed for the offence; or
$5,000, whichever is the lower.
Where any offence is compoundable under this section, the abetment of or a conspiracy to commit the offence, or an attempt to commit the offence when the attempt is itself an offence, may be compounded in like manner.
On payment of such sum of money, no further proceedings are to be taken against that person in respect of the offence.
All sums collected under this section shall be paid into the
Consolidated Fund.
Assistant Commissioner
“Assistant Commissioner” means any Assistant Commissioner of Cybersecurity appointed under section 5(3);

“Commissioner” means the Commissioner of Cybersecurity appointed under section 5(1);
