The Attorney General may direct that any thing seized under section 44 or 45 that —
may provide evidence of an offence for which surrender has been ordered; or
may have been acquired as a result of an offence of that kind, shall be returned to the country that sought the surrender if a surrender warrant or temporary surrender warrant is issued after extradition proceedings have concluded.
If no surrender warrant has been issued after extradition proceedings have concluded, the Attorney General shall direct that the thing be returned to the person from whom it was seized, unless he is satisfied that the interests of justice in the requesting country require it to be returned to the requesting country.
