The powers and discretions vested in the Controller by this Act and the duties required to be discharged by him may, subject to such limitations as may be prescribed by regulations made under section 53, be exercised and discharged by a Deputy Controller, and by an Assistant Controller or a
Senior Immigration Officer duly authorised in writing in that behalf by the
Controller.
