17. Nasab of adopted child, rights and obligations

An adoption order shall not transfer the nasab of the child to the adopter and the child shall not have the rights and obligations of a natural child of the adopter. The adopted child shall remain the child of his natural parents and shall retain the name given to him by his natural parents or one of them, if it is known.
