Where the applicant has made a claim to com-pensation pursuant to any notice under section 6 the amount awarded to him shall not exceed the amount so claimed or be less than the amount awarded by the Land
Officer under section 8.
Where the applicant has refused to make such claim or has omitted without sufficient reason to be allowed by the Court to make such claim the amount awarded by the
Court may be less than and shall in no case exceed the amount awarded by the Land Officer.
Land Officer
"Land Officer" means the officer in charge of the Land Office and includes any officer specially appointed by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan to perform the functions of a Land Officer under this Act;

Where the applicant has omitted for a sufficient reason to be allowed by the Court to make such claim the amount awarded to him by the Court may be less than or may exceed the amount awarded by the Land Officer.
( 4) The provisions of this and sections 17 and 18
shall be read and explained to the assessors by the Court before they give their opinions as to the amount of com-pensation to be awarded.
