(1)

The owner of a vessel shall be bound to inde-mnify any seaman employed therein against unemployment resulting from the wreck or loss of such vessel.

(2)

The indemnity shall be paid for the days during which such seaman remains in fact unemployed and shall be at the same rate as the wages agreed to be paid to such seaman: Provided that the total amount payable shall not exceed 2 months’ wages.

(3)

Any money due under this section may be recovered by suit in the appropriate court.
