s 67Duty of Religious Enforcement Officers and police officers to investigate offences

(1)

Subject to the provisions of any other written law and to any lawful order or direction given to him in that behalf, every Religious

Enforcement Officer and police officer shall investigate any offence the commission of which he has reason to suspect and to take such action as he deems necessary to prevent the repetition or aggravation of any offence.

(2)

The Chief Syar'ie Prosecutor may direct that the investigation of such non-seizable offences as may be specified in such direction need not be undertaken by the Religious Enforcement Officer or police officer but nothing in this Code is deemed to preclude any Religious Enforcement

Officer or police officer from making such investigation as may be necessary to satisfy himself that the offence is an offence to which such direction relates.
