s 224Order to take further evidence

(1)

In dealing with any appeal, the Syariah High Court may, if it thinks additional evidence to be necessary or any witness should be recalled,

Criminal Procedure Code either take such evidence itself or direct it to be taken by a Syariah

Subordinate Court.

(2)

When the additional evidence is taken by the Syariah

Subordinate Court. it shall certify such evidence to the Syariah High Court which shall thereupon, as soon as may be, proceed to dispose of the appeal.

(3)

Unless the Syariah High Court otherwise directs, the accused or his Syar'ie Lawyer shall be present when the additional evidence is taken.
