s 197Suspension of execution in certain cases

When an offender has been sentenced to fine only and to imprisonment in default of payment of the fine and the Syariah Court issues a warrant under section 184, the Syariah Court may suspend the execution of the sentence of imprisonment and may release the offender on his executing a bond, with or without sureties, as the Syariah Court thinks fit, conditioned for his appearance before such Syariah Court on the day appointed for the

return of such warrant, such day not being more than 15 days from the time of executing the bond; and in the event of the fine not having been realised.
