Any male who is mukallaf who fails to perform the Friday prayer in a mosque without uzur syar’ie or without any reasonable excuse is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $200 for a first offence, a fine not exceeding $300 for a second offence, and a fine not exceeding $1,000 for a third or subsequent offence.
