The Attorney General may, with the approval of His Majesty the
Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan, make rules —
for the purposes of any provision of this Act authorising the making of rules with respect to any matter; and
for prescribing anything required or convenient to be prescribed by this Act, including the prescription of fees, and generally regulating practice and procedure under this Act:
Provided that rules made under the repealed Act and in force on the commencement of this subsection shall remain in force and have effect as if they had been made under this Act, so far as they are not inconsistent with this Act, until other provision has been made under this Act.
Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (3), such rules may make provision —
as to the manner of filing applications and other documents;
requiring and regulating the translation of documents and the filing and authentication of any translation;
as to the service of documents;
authorising the rectification of irregularities of procedure;
prescribing time limits for anything required to be done in connection with any proceeding under this Act;
for the extension of any time limit so prescribed, or specified by the Registrar, whether or not it has already expired.
