40. Children and young persons not to associate with adult offenders

No child or young person while detained in a police station or while being conveyed to or from any court, or while waiting before or after attending any criminal court, shall be permitted to associate with an adult

(not being a relative) who is charged with an offence other than an offence with which that child or young person is jointly charged.
