Act

Penal Code

In plain English

Not legal advice

Some chapters of the Penal Code apply to any written law in force, and to any instrument made under that law, unless a different intention appears. Certain exceptions in the Penal Code do not cover acts that are offences regardless of any harm they cause to the person who consents or for whom consent is given. For example, consent from a woman or her guardian does not justify causing her miscarriage, unless it is done in good faith to save her life.
