Radiation Protection Act · 2021 Revised Edition · Part · Licences
8. Application for licences etc.
Official textFrom Attorney General's Chambers, unchanged
An application for the grant or renewal of a licence shall be made to the Authority in such form and manner as the Authority may require and shall be accompanied by the prescribed fee.
An applicant for a licence shall furnish such information and documents as the Authority may in any case require.
The Authority may, in his discretion -
grant or renew a licence subject to such conditions as may be specified by the Authority;
revoke or vary any condition attached to the licence, or attach new conditions to the licence;
refuse any application for the grant or renewal of a licence; or
suspend a licence for such period as he may determine, or cancel a licence.
A licence shall, unless earlier suspended or cancelled, remain in force for such period as may be specified in the licence.
The licensee shall not have any claim or be entitled to compensation for any loss caused to him by the suspension or cancellation of a licence issued under this Act or by the refusal to renew such licence.
For the avoidance of doubt, a suspended licence does not imply that a licensee ceases to implement safety measures.
