17. Powers of Registrar
In plain English
Once a claim is filed, the registrar must invite all parties to a settlement meeting. A settlement can become an order if the claimant asks. If the registrar thinks the tribunal cannot hear a claim, the case stops, but an appeal is allowed within one month. If a party misses the meeting, the registrar may rule against them.
