Part · Jurisdiction

9. Abandonment of part of claim to give tribunal jurisdiction

In plain English

If a claim is worth more than the prescribed limit, the claimant may give up the extra amount. The tribunal can then hear and decide the claim. A tribunal order on such a claim settles all demands about it in full. Judgment is treated as entered on those terms.

Summary · Drafted with AI, checked against the official text on 30 Sep 2026.
